"Flaws" is the third single from Bastille's debut studio album Bad Blood.

Background[]

The song was the band's debut single; it was first released in 2011 through the independent label Young and Lost Club as a double A-side 7-inch single with their song "Icarus". The single was later re-released through Virgin Records as a digital download on 21 October 2012, featuring remixes and new B-side track "Durban Skies", peaking at number 21 on the UK Singles Chart on this occasion. "Flaws" was released for a third time on 3 March 2014, but did not improve upon its previous peak.

Music video[]

Two music videos have been produced. The first accompanied the 2012 release of "Flaws" and was first released onto YouTube on 12 September 2012 at a total length of three minutes and forty-one seconds. A second video released in 2014 for the single's re-release documents the band's experiences of 2013 via a video montage of several of their performances.

Lyrics[]

When all of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
A wonderful part of the mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
They lie there hand in hand
Ones we've inherited, ones that we learned
They pass from man to man

There's a hole in my soul
I can't fill it I can't fill it
There's a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up; let's finish what we've started
Dig them up, so nothing's left unturned

All of your flaws and all of my flaws,
When they have been exhumed
We'll see that we need them to be who we are
Without them we'd be doomed

There's a hole in my soul
I can't fill it I can't fill it
There's a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up; let's finish what we've started
Dig them up, so nothing's left unturned

Oooooh
Oooooh

When all of your flaws
And all of my flaws are counted
When all of your flaws
And all of my flaws are counted

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up. Let's finish what we've started
Dig them up. So nothing's left unturned

Oooooh
Oooooh

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
Look at the wonderful mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone
